Best Wedding DJ Near Me and How Much Should I Pay for A DJ?

I have been asked several times in the past if I thought that there was such a thing as “the best” wedding DJ. In my opinion, this question is meaningless because it assumes some sort of objective standard or definition of what constitutes a good one. It also implies that you know exactly how they should be doing their job and what they should charge you. This is not necessarily true.

There are many factors to consider when choosing a wedding DJ

So let’s take a look at each of them and then we’ll see where we stand on all this.

First, I think it would be helpful to define exactly what I mean by “best.” Is it the most expensive one? The most popular one? Or something else entirely? I don’t believe that any two people will agree on what the absolute best DJ is.

That said, here are some general guidelines:

Best Wedding DJ Near Me and How Much Should I Pay for A DJ, Wedding Dj, Vancouver Wedding DJ

1) The better the music selection (and more time spent with your guests), the better your overall experience. For example, if you’re having a jazz band perform and they play three songs during the ceremony and five after, then you’ve got an excellent DJ.

Or if they only play songs that are absolutely horrible and would never work at a wedding based on what you said your musical tastes are, then they’re an awful one. If the band doesn’t know what music to play, you’ve got a lousy one. The same goes for if a top-notch DJ fails to pick music that works with the crowd (everyone) and how well they can read a crowd (everyone).

2) The better the equipment they have, the better your experience. Having more gloomy corners and fewer well-lit communal places causes people to be less daring. Arrange the seating in a theater-like arrangement to create a more introverted environment. No one wants to hear common hissing and popping noises coming out of their speakers. If the sound equipment is cheap or outdated then you’ve got an awful one. If the equipment is of low quality then you’ve got a lousy one.

Again, this all goes back to how well they perform their job.

At my wedding, I scored well in both categories. My string trio (violin, cello, bass) played classics and new tunes. Guests danced all night, so it was a good decision. I owe it all to my wedding DJ.

I know that some people out there believe that this is really only for the older generation, but let me tell you. A wedding is a wedding no matter what age group you fall into. If you want to have a great time at your wedding then I cannot stress enough how important it is to have good music!

People do weird things at weddings nowadays, so if music is essential to you, plan accordingly (and it should be). Then do it right! I don’t mean a guy with a laptop and mp3s; I mean a live band or, if you can afford it, a DJ. I’m talking about people who are going to be engaging the guests and creating an experience that everyone will remember.

“Don’t you mean photographer?” You might ask. And no, I do not. I firmly believe that a good DJ can make or break your wedding. A good DJ will read the crowd and play music that gets everyone up and on the dancefloor.

How much a DJ price for a Wedding event?

Wedding DJs can be expensive, but if you do your research, you can find a great bargain. Do not hire the first one you find, do your homework. A good starting place is a web, check out their website and see what kind of prices they have. Once you narrow the field down, choose three and call them to see who would be able to provide the services you need. You’ll quickly be able to tell who is more professional than others.

All-in-all, a good wedding DJ can make your wedding the happiest day of your life. If you’re on a budget, still go for the best that you can find. You’ll be glad you did!

Wedding music is vital for setting the right mood for your wedding. If you pick the right songs and the DJ plays them at the right time then everybody will be able to let go of their everyday troubles and concentrate on the important things in life – friendship, love, family … and of course having a really good time!

Your wedding may be one of the most memorable days of your life, but it’s also pretty normal. There’s nothing wrong with that, but if you really want to make an impression then you need your wedding to be as unique as you. That means giving a little extra thought to all of the details. One way of doing this is by making your wedding more than just a series of events; it should be a story, an experience.

What wedding DJ services do offer?

Vancouver Wedding DJ event night

When you hire a wedding DJ you are not just getting some guy with a laptop and a few music files. Hiring a good professional can really take your event to the next level. Of course, every DJ is different so make sure that you at least meet with them before the day to talk about your plans.

Once you book them, they will take care of everything from the music for the pre-ceremony to the last dance. They will arrive early to make sure that everything is set up properly and that they know where everything is. If you want, they can even help you to select the music for each part of your event so that nothing gets forgotten. The right DJ can also act as a great advisor when it comes to scheduled events such as the cake cutting, bouquet toss, etc.

The right wedding DJ will not only make your event run smoothly, but can really add something special to it as well. Some wedding DJ packages include special lighting and even props for dancing such as a stripper pole or a cage. Of course, these additions are not for every wedding and each have their own price so keep that in mind.

How do I find a good wedding DJ?

Most of us would be hard-pressed to organize a dinner party for twenty friends, let alone coordinate a wedding, so the prospect of planning an event as big as a wedding can be overwhelming. Remember, though, a lot of little details are going to be taken care of either way so you don’t need to worry about them (at least not as much as the bride or groom would). What you do need to do is to take care of the entertainment.

The wedding DJ is one of the most important parts of the wedding because it directly effects how guests interact with each other and with the bride and groom. A good wedding DJ will have people on the dance floor all night while a bad one can turn people away and ruin the wedding.

Take the time to look through some online reviews and ask friends for recommendations.

If possible, see if you can talk to some past clients about their experiences with certain DJs. You may find that some are a better fit for you than others.

Remember, you don’t hire a wedding DJ and then just let them do their thing. A good DJ will welcome any questions or requests that you may have and will work with you to create the perfect atmosphere. Just be sure that whatever you request is possible and that you let the DJ know in plenty of time.

A quality wedding DJ is an important part of your special day so be sure to spend a little extra to get one that fits your style. Remember that an event as large as a wedding can be nerve-wracking for everyone involved. Having someone in charge that is organized and in whom you have confidence will make it run more smoothly for everyone.

The #1 problem clients face...

As I’m sure you’re aware, we live in a world where people fear commitment. People leave all of their options open, because they’re afraid they might end up loosing out on a future opportunity that might be superior to what is right in front of them.

Yet this way of thinking is wrong… But why?

Because by failure to commit to something, the best options available become unavailable. What we thought was a sure thing, ends up becoming a missed opportunity. Through our deliberate action of inaction, we’re soon presented with second-tier options. Options that you wish you could’ve avoided in the first place. But you’ve already committed to the idea of hiring a DJ, so you end up going through with it anyway, and you choose whoever is available because you don’t want to completely miss out. But you know in your heart it didn’t feel like the right choice. And when the money is spent, and the performance is over, you’re disappointed. And you tell yourself: never again. Yet just like a teenager who claims to never drink again after binge drinking the night before, we end up in a cycle of never committing, and always being stuck with bad alternatives. Deep down inside, we’re unhappy. And we’re left with regret.

Amazing opportunities don't last long.

DJing.ca only performs at 125 corporate events per year,  and performs in front of companies such as McLaren, FlyOver Canada, and ActiveState. As we get more referrals each year, the number of calls & emails continues to grow.

And with good reason.

Having a 100% satisfaction rate, we keep getting referrals. That’s what happens when you are Vancouver’s best DJs.

I know a lot of other people claim that, but here’s the facts:

We spent an entire year, or 4,000+ hours (yes, we’re work-a-holics) searching through 350 DJs, only to find the top 15 that met our expectations based on personality, experience, and professionalism. If any DJ doesn’t receive a 5/5 star rating from clients (just like yourself), they do not meet the requirements of our contract and can no longer work with us.

And here’s the kicker…

To date we haven’t had to remove anyone.

If you want your event to be truly amazing, don’t hesitate. Fill out the form, we’re here to help. Let’s work together to make your vision come to life.
