Why should you hire a Vancouver DJ for your event?
There are many reasons to choose a Vancouver DJ, but here are three of the most important:
- We have more combined years of expertise than any other DJs in the area, so you know you’re getting the best service possible. We own state-of-the-art sound and lighting equipment, so you can be certain that your special day will be perfectly amplified.
- We have an unparalleled reputation for our work, so you can feel confident that your event will be as spectacular as you have always imagined it to be.
What to expect from our Vancouver DJ?
As a DJ, one of my responsibilities is to create a musical setting that will complement the mood of each event. For example, a wedding is an emotional event, so I would play romantic music for the bride and groom; a corporate event would have a more subdued atmosphere, and thus I would play soft background music. I also have to make certain that no inappropriate songs are played, and that the volume is not too loud.
But perhaps the most important part of the job is communicating with the audience. I have to make sure they know when to clap, and when to be quiet. I have to anticipate any and all of their requests. In short, a Vancouver DJ’s job is to create a memorable experience for all those present.
A DJ’s equipment, on the other hand, is merely a tool. I would describe it as a microphone and a pair of speakers, with a whole lot of knobs and switches. The sound quality produced by a microphone is dependent on its design and construction. The quality of the sound coming from the speakers, but, depends on the quality of the equipment used to boost the sound. I use only the best equipment available, so the sound you hear will always be of very high quality; however, you would be quite surprised if I chose to use any other equipment.
Now that you know a little bit about the services we offer, you may be wondering which one you need. The answer to that question depends on the kind of event you’re planning. Our rates and packages are available upon request, and many of them offer different levels of consultation and planning. But if you just need a dance floor, we can provide that as well.
Wedding and Corporate DJ Services
As a DJ, one of my responsibilities is to create a musical setting that will complement the mood of each event. For example, a wedding is an emotional event, and it requires a certain type of music. The bride and groom want to be surrounded by all of their family and friends, so we will have a grand reception with a band and a floor show. The groom’s father wants to be remembered and admired for his contribution to the wedding, so we will play a series of his favorite songs.
It’s important to note, however, that we have a strict “no dancing” at these events. Everyone should simply be enjoying themselves, so there is no need for anyone to be standing on their feet all night. I would also recommend against a live band for these events, as most people find that they are unable to dance while listening to a set of songs. As you can imagine, this can lead to a very awkward situation.
In contrast, if you were planning a more subdued event, such as a corporate dinner, a jazz ensemble would be the perfect accompaniment. Everyone is able to dance to this type of music, and the atmosphere is more conducive to conversation.
You may have noticed that these two types of events sound rather opposite to one another. While one is a happy occasion, the other sounds more like a tense gathering.
Why is this, though?
First off, we must look at the differences between a wedding and a corporate event. Long-separated individuals reunite during a wedding after a lengthy separation. This is a celebration of love, and the music is supposed to be soft. In a corporate event, people come together to celebrate the success of a particular individual, or a group of individuals. This is a more formal occasion, and the music is generally louder.
One thing these differences have in common, though, is that the music must be appropriate. I cannot have any “loud” music at a wedding; likewise, I cannot play any “soft” music at a corporate event. As a result, if I were planning a wedding, I would not be able to play any instruments, and I would only be able to play soft music (e.g., romantic songs). I would likely play a lot of that music in an attempt to set the right mood; I would also play a lot of classical music to add a refined atmosphere.
Now, if you are planning a corporate event, you may not have much choice in the matter of the music. While I would not recommend anything loud, I would be able to play whatever is desired. I might also bring in an outside DJ to provide a more eclectic and varied musical selection. As with any other decisions made for your event, though, the decisions regarding music must be left up to you.
